Adamant Entertainment is proud to announce the latest release in our new product line, Greatsword: 5th Edition Fantasy — 100 Unique Enchantments!
This Pay-What-You-Want PDF features 100 magical weapon enchantments for use with the 2024 release of the 5th Edition rules of Dungeons & Dragons.
A magic item should be a thing of wonder, ideally one that is connected to the lore of your campaign world. Too often, items such as the humble +1 or +2 weapon seem bland–something to use until something better comes along.
In J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit, Bilbo Baggins finds a magic sword, Sting, in a Troll horde. In D&D terms, Sting is little more than a +1 or a +2 short sword. But that bonus is not what made Sting memorable. What everyone remembers about Sting was that it glowed when goblins were nearby!
The 2024 edition of the Dungeon Master’s Guide features a table with a list of Minor Properties to add to common and uncommon magic items. This is a good start, but it offers fewer than 20 options. In this Pay-What-You Want PDF, we provide a table with 100 such properties, for the purposes of adding some in-game flavor to your basic magical weapons.
Dungeon Masters should roll percentile dice on the table which follows to add a unique enchantment to an otherwise-mundane magical weapon. Come up with some campaign lore to go with it, and the item will become a part of the player-character’s legend!
